Seismic Scanning and Trace Digitizing

We at Phoenix take paper seismic sections, scan them, and then use our proprietary SEISTRAK software to digitize each trace to provide an industry standard SEG-Y format file. This specialist software contains extremely accurate digitizing algorithms which faithfully reproduce the information content of the original seismic traces. Our dedicated team of technicians ensure that our reputation for high quality results - always delivered at reasonable prices and with a fast turnaround - is maintained.

As this example shows, our tracking algorithm can accurately re-produce the original trace wiggle.

Once in a digital form, we can usually improve your data by further data processing, either in isolation, or by digitally matching it with other data in the area. Once finalised, the data can be loaded to an interpretation workstation or simply archived for future use.

Seismic Data Processing

We offer a complete service for the further processing of 2-D post-stack seismic data, either derived from scanning, or from existing digital data. We have particular expertise in skilled “human intensive” seismic processing steps, such as the phase matching of different data-sets, or the derivation of migration velocity fields in the case of sparse, or absent, velocity information, etc.

Map Digitizing and Mapping Services

Phoenix capture digital data from paper maps (line locations, contours, well positions, lease boundaries, etc.), in addition to the digitising of non trace data from seismic sections (e.g. elevation curves, fdp plots, velocity tables, interpreted horizons/faults, etc.) We provide digital output in a variety of industry standard formats, including SEG-Y for seismic and many other options, including Landmark and GeoQuest formats, for map based data.

As well as data capture we provide a comprehensive range of mapping services, such as posted, or contoured, map plots, gridding of data points, grid to grid operations, depth conversion, etc.
