Seismic Section Viewing for Windows^tm

SEISVU is a Windows utility program designed to let the user view, analyse, manipulate, plot and process files that comply with the SEG-Y format standard for the exchange of seismic data.

The full version of SeisVU gives you a wide range of functionality, including header and trace editing, full scale plotting, input/output from an Exabyte 8mm cartridge drive, simple processing routines, together with many other facilities. 

SeisVU can be used to help visually match different seismic data sets, With features such as interactive phase shifting and the ability to apply space varying static shifts. These can be used in conjunction with processing and analysis routines such as spectral whitening, frequency spectrum displays, filtering, etc. in order to obtain the best possible data match.

We also offer a simplified "cut down" version of SEISVU which is free and can be downloaded from this site. Most of the functionality contained in the full version has been disabled, but it still comprises a complete SEG-Y viewing tool for Windows - incorporating the ability to view the seismic data, both as a colour display and as conventional black and white traces. In addition, the user can view all the file header information, i.e. the EBCDIC, binary (or reel) header and all the trace headers. It even has audio-out so you can listen to your seismic!

Individual sample values can also be obtained, as well as histograms of sample value distribution - for an individual trace, the section as a whole, or for an area of interest. The effect of amplitude clipping can be visually tested by means of an interactive colour coded display linked to the sample value histogram.
