Community Involvement

As a leading service company based in Oxfordshire, Phoenix Data Solutions is committed to the local community. We believe in doing our part to support and enhance the quality of life for all our customers and staff. In this role we support Oxford Inspires, the cultural development agency for Oxfordshire which is turning the spotlight on the county’s complex and changing cultural life. 

Local businesses are playing a vital role in the process. Phoenix Data Solutions is one of 16 Oxford companies who, as corporate members, have been engaging with their city in a new and different way.

 “Phoenix Data Solutions is helping us to influence how the county is growing and developing” said Kathelene Weiss, Oxford Inspires director of development. “Corporate membership is also an opportunity for staff to be close to what’s happening in their city, through networking opportunities, publicity and complimentary tickets to arts and cultural events.” 

The investment of local business and a large grant from the Lottery made possible 'Evolving City', a year-long cultural programme in 2005. And there’s more to come. Oxford Inspires – and cultural organisations throughout the county – are gearing up for a special year in 2007, when Oxfordshire celebrates its very own millennium. Some exciting special events are planned, including festivals, picnics and street theatre. There will be a major food festival, with the emphasis on young people; Faces of Oxfordshire, which will explore Oxfordshire’s people and heritage in new and eye-catching ways; waterways events on the River Thames and the Oxford canal; Summer Saturdays with street theatre and other events livening up city streets; Street Olympics and much more.
