DECC releases pre-1992 offshore 2-D seismic dataPhoenix Data Solutions have been appointed to handle the release of the huge volume of UKCS 2-D seismic held by DECC. DECC hold copies of well over 1,000,000 km of UKCS 2D seismic data acquired under the terms of offshore exploration licences. After a successful, but limited, data release pilot scheme associated with the Promote Round, DECC agreed to release all this data (excepting non-exclusive data). Phoenix have since worked as release agents through several UKCS licensing rounds. Data can be searched for and ordered via our new dedicated UKCS seismic and well website. Selected data can be placed in a shopping cart and sent for a price quotation. Any confirmed orders are then sent to us from storage for copying, digitising and distribution. Customers automatically receive a set of scanned TIFF image files of the original seismic sections and navigation information provided in a text file on CD/DVD. Also available are paper plots and digitized SEG-Y files of the seismic (with navigation in the trace headers) which are both produced using scans of the original seismic data. The Licence Fee is £0.55 per km. Thereafter prices range from £0.25 per km for a paper copy to £3.10 per km for a digital version in SEG-Y format (excluding handling charges).
